Add videos to your library using drag-and-drop or the file picker
This guide covers how to upload video files to your host.video library. Uploads use resumable TUS transfers, so large files and interrupted connections are handled automatically.
Click the Upload button in the top-right corner of any page. A file picker will open. Select one or more video files and click Open.
Each file begins uploading immediately. A progress indicator appears in the notification area and on each video card in the library until the upload completes.
Open the Videos page. Drag one or more video files from your computer and drop them anywhere on the page.
A full-screen overlay appears while you're dragging to confirm the drop target. Release to start the uploads.
Non-video files and files over 100 GB will be rejected with an error notification.
Once a file finishes uploading, host.video begins processing it — transcoding to HLS adaptive bitrate and generating a thumbnail. The video card shows a Processing indicator during this stage.
When processing is complete, the video status changes to Ready and the thumbnail appears. The video is now available to embed or share.
If you try to close or navigate away from the app while an upload is in progress, your browser will prompt you to confirm before leaving. Leaving will cancel any uploads that are still in progress.
